The purpose of the detector is to send an early signal of a potentially explosive atmosphere. It uses a non-selective glowing semiconductor sensor that responds to the presence of a wide range of flammable gases or vapours. By calibrating with the specific monitored substance required, precise settings for individual applications are achieved. The GC20P-FGD detector can be set up for a variety of primarily hydrocarbon based substances such as hydrogen, methane, propane, butane, alcohols, acetone, etc.
The detector can be connected to one external detector for sensing flammable gases (type GC20PN, GC20PK, ...) or carbon monoxide (type GIC40N). When connecting an external detector, its disconnection is monitored according to EN 60079-29-1 ed. 2. Inside the detector there is an integrated siren and a 24 V source for switching valves with manual opening type EVH 1015.2 to EVH 1050.2 by PEVEKO s.r.o.
On the electronics board there are controls that allow to calibrate the detector when using the calibration gas, and a memory function setting element for the stage II output.
